Benedicte and Kjetil - Bergen, Norway Wedding photographer

Bergen, June 19 2014, was a grey, windy and chilly arrival to the Norwegian port city, But an amazing day none the less. I had been waiting for this day since late last year when conformation came through that I would be photographing Benedicte and Kjetils wedding day on the 21st of June 2014. We were greeted by Benedicte and Kjetil on arrival and treated to the finest strawberries and brown cheese during lunch as we discussed the finer details of their beautiful day ahead. Two days of exploration, venue visits and the epic location scouting paid off, we became great friends and couldn't wait for Saturday to arrive.

Wedding day arrived. We were greeted with a beautiful sunny day. My Wife, as my second shooter (Her first wedding to shoot, and amazing!) and assistant, we started the day covering both bridal and groom preparations. With no talk of the wedding dress on the first two days, it was as much a surprise for me when it was unveiled, a disney princess was born, everything through out the day became more epic, a groom in Naval uniform, a beautiful old church, a beautiful bride walking down the aisle, and the ceremony concluded with a sabre arch!

With an hour drive between ceremony and reception, we had planned our portrait locations well, Gamlehaugen Castle surrounded by summer gardens, and of course you couldn't come to Norway and not shoot in the Fjords, Loddefjord was our choice, spectacular is an understatement.

The 21st of June was also the summer solstice, and being in Norway this meant practically endless light! And it was, the whole reception, cake cutting and first dance was enjoyed at the amazing, boutique Fjordslottet Hotel basking in glorious evening light until we finished shooting @ midnight. The reception was filled with Love, Laughter and an amazing Bride and Groom at the centre of it all!

Nestled away on the Inland Island of Osteroy the Fjordslottet Hotel is a boutique hotel, beautifully set up for weddings, with a huge skylight running down the centre of the main room, antique/vintage styled lounge rooms makes for great photography.

To Benedicte and Kjetil, Thank you for choosing us to document your wedding day, it was truly and honour and privilege to be able to share in the love and capture these memories for you. We wish you all the happiness in the world for your new life together, and wish to meet again.
